Kghani Bewazi?
Kwenzekeni ngeNiniva ngemva kweenkhathi zaboJona?
NGOKUYA nge-The British Museum Blog, “Ngeminyaka yabo-670 B.C.E, i-Asiriya yaba mbuso omkhulu ephasini, kusukela etjingalanga yeSayipurasi kufikela epumalanga ye-Iran begodu kwesikhatjhana beyihlanganisa neGibhide.” Ihlokodorobha yakhona, iNiniva bekulidorobha elikhulu ephasini. Beyineengadi ezihle, isigodlo esikhulu namalayibhrari amakhulu. Imigwalo esebodeni leNiniva yakade ithi iKosi u-Ashurbanipal bekazibiza “ngekosi yephasi” njengamanye amakhosi we-Asiriya. Ngesikhatheso i-Asiriya neNiniva bezibonakala zingekhe zathunjwa.
Nanyana kunjalo, lokha i-Asiriya ibonakala inamandla khulu, umphorofidi kaJehova uZefaniya wathi: ‘USomnini . . . uzakubhubhisa i-Asiriya. Atjhiye iNiniva imabhudubhudu begodu yome kere kwanga lirhalawumba.’ Ukungezelela kilokho, umphorofidi kaJehova uNarhume wabikezela wathi: “Thumbani isiliva! Thumbani igolide! . . . INiniva idlelezelwe, yahlangulwa; yasala ilirubhi! . . . Boke abakubonako bazakubaleka bathi: ‘INiniva igirikile!’” (Zeph. 2:13; Nah. 2:9, 10; 3:7) Ngemva kokuzwa iimphorofidwezi abantu kungenzeka bazibuza: ‘Kghani kungenzeka lokho? I-Asiriya enamandla ingathunjwa?’ Bekubonakala kuyinto engekhe yenzeka.
Nanyana kunjalo, i-Asiriya yathunjwa! Ngekupheleni kwaka-670 B.C.E, i-Asiriya besele ithunjwe yiBhabhiloni namaMede.
